Why some text is held back
In September 2026 we took Thin Gold offline after finding errors in the candidate and incumbent data behind some race pages and analysis. We are bringing the site back in phases. Every sentence that names a nominee, an incumbent, a party’s control of a seat or chamber, or an election result is checked against our sourced records before it is shown. Text that has not passed that check is held back and marked on the page; the data itself stays visible with its source and date.
No individual corrections are logged yet. Errors that qualify: any published figure, rating, or attribution we got wrong.
